It is a lot tidier when you don’t have a bunch of cables hanging out of your laptop. No one wants their workstation to appear messy. This is why the use of Bluetooth devices is on the rise. Now it is possible to connect a Bluetooth-enabled mouse, keyboard, headphones, earbuds, etc to your Windows PC. This cannot be accomplished until you know how to properly turn on Bluetooth on Windows 10.

Here are the step-by-step instructions to turn on Bluetooth on Windows 10

Before you move ahead with the instructions, make sure your computer supports Bluetooth connectivity. In 2019, almost all laptops are enabled with Bluetooth but things are not the same with desktops. Particularly, the assembled ones.

1) To find the Bluetooth settings, go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. You will see a window similar to the image below.

2) Locate a slider with Bluetooth as it’s the label. Since the Bluetooth on your PC is turned off by default, expect this slider to indicate “off”. Turn on the Bluetooth slider and you are good to go.

3) If you don’t see a slider with the label Bluetooth, there must be something wrong with the Bluetooth connectivity of your computer. Don’t worry. It can be fixed easily. I have discussed Bluetooth troubleshooting methods in the next section.

Since you are still not able to connect to Bluetooth on your Windows 10 PC, you must check if your PC supports Bluetooth or not. If it does, then you will have to update the drivers.

Press Windows key + R keys on your keyboard or simply type “run” in the search bar(bottom-left side of the screen). Once a new window opens, type the command “devmgmt.msc” and wait for the Device Manager window to open up.

Here check if you can find Bluetooth adapters. If your PC does support Bluetooth, then you will Bluetooth in the list of adapters. If not, then your PC does not support Bluetooth and you will need to find alternatives solutions to perform the tasks you intended initially to perform with Bluetooth.
