If you love sports, you have surely heard of DAZN from other sports junkies by now. It’s an awesome platform with a no-strings attached policy (so no-contract subscriptions) that streams tons of sports: football, baseball, rugby, basketball, esports, chess – you name it!

There’s just one problem with it – it’s only available in a few countries. Try to watch it from a different country, and you’ll get a message telling you the platform doesn’t work there.

Don’t worry, though. We’ll show you three ways (VPNs, proxies, and Smart DNSs) you can unblock DAZN, and compare them to see which one is the best.

However, if you already decided you want to use a VPN, and don’t have time to read the whole article right now, just skip to ProPrivacy’s guide to unblock DAZN now.

A Quick Look at 3 Ways to Unblock DAZN

Table of Contents

Based on our research and tests, these are the best unblocking options for DAZN:

1. VPNs

A VPN is an online service that hides your IP address and encrypts your traffic. Here’s a basic overview of how it works:

  1. First, you use a VPN app to connect to a VPN server.
  2. The two establish a secure connection between them.
  3. When you visit a website, your requests go to it through the VPN server.
  4. So, any site you browse will see the requests coming from the server, not you. That means it will see the VPN server’s IP address. Your address will be hidden from it.

Since your IP address can reveal your geo-location, it’s obvious you just need to use a server in a country where DAZN is available. Right now, these are:

  • The US
  • Canada
  • Switzerland
  • Spain
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Brazil
  • Austria

In the near future, though, DAZN might become available worldwide. Its content will still vary from country to country, though.

2. Proxies

Proxies work just like VPNs, but they don’t offer strong encryption. The proxy server will also act as a middleman between your device and DAZN’s website. So the site will only see the IP address of the proxy server.

Obviously, you should use a proxy in a country where DAZN is available.

Proxies have one more extra feature – their local cache. Basically, they can save requested pages locally, and retrieve them from their cache without having to forward user requests anymore. What that means for you is that you get faster load times.

3. Smart DNS Services

These are online services that spoof your geo-location by tweaking your DNS settings. Also, they use different DNS and proxy servers around the world to route your traffic to help you unblock geo-restricted content.

Besides that, they also intercept your connection requests to DAZN, and replace any data that might leak your real geo-location with information that points to a whitelisted region.

Unlike VPNs and proxies, they don’t hide your IP address from DAZN or other websites.

What’s the Best way to Unblock DAZN Abroad?

In our experience, VPNs are the way to go – especially since many of them offer Smart DNSs and proxies as additional services. So you get a three-in-one deal. To find the best VPNs that unblock DAZN now, follow that link.

Of course, what qualifies as “the best” service for you ultimately comes down to your personal preferences.

To help you make a decision, we’ll offer you a quick overview of the pros and cons of each service:

VPNs – Pros & Cons

They’re pretty effective at bypassing geo-blocks. Many of them are really good at circumventing DAZN’s detection methods too.

And since they hide your IP address, they also help you get around firewalls at work or school. So you can check some videos or read the latest news during your lunch break.

Plus, they encrypt your traffic end-to-end. That’s a very good defense against bandwidth throttling. That’s when your ISP intentionally lowers your speeds because you use too much data on a specific site. If you use a VPN, they can’t do that because they don’t know what sites you browse.

VPNs mostly have just one drawback – they can lower your original speeds. It’s not always by a lot, but it can be noticeable.

Proxies – Pros & Cons

Much like VPNs, they’re good at unblocking content and bypassing firewalls.

However, they’re not as efficient as VPNs. Many proxies are free, so they don’t have the financial resources to keep up with DAZN’s detection and blocking methods. Also, proxy servers get overcrowded pretty often, meaning you’ll deal with annoyingly slow speeds.

And while their local caching ability is cool, there’s one problem – it can often retrieve outdated content. That’s not exactly helpful when you want to see the latest sports news and results.

Lastly, proxy encryption is usually weak or nonexistent. So they’re not good at stopping bandwidth throttling.

Smart DNS Services – Pros & Cons

They’re low-key unblocking tools, so DAZN doesn’t focus so much on detecting and blocking them. Also, a Smart DNS doesn’t use encryption, so you get to binge DAZN with your original ISP speeds.

They do have two drawbacks, though:

  1. Because they don’t encrypt data, they can’t stop bandwidth throttling.
  2. They don’t hide your IP address, so you can’t bypass firewalls that block DAZN.

How Do You Like to Unblock DAZN?

Do you use VPNs, or do Smart DNS services work better for you? Or do you use other methods we haven’t mentioned in this article?

If you do, please tell us about them in the comments or on social media. If they’re good enough and actually work, we might include them in this article.
